Mango Hotel Airoli, Navi Mumbai: Ideal business hotel- Review
Mango Hotel, Airoli, Navi Mumbai is where I spent a week recently. This post is a quick review of the hotel, listing its pros and cons. Will be useful if you visit Navi Mumbai area on work and looking for good hotel to stay. The location has nothing much to see, so leisure visitors may not find this hotel that useful, due to distance from all places of interest.
Mango hotel operates on Floor 10 and 11 of Reliable tech park. It has its own entrance and car park and a dedicated elevator to go to 10th floor. Reception is in 10th floor. Lobby is well stocked with half a dozen different newspapers. Rooms are on 10th and 11th floor (A separate lift is needed to go to 11th floor)
The good things:
Proximity to business parks: If your work is in Airloi area, where many IT parks are located, then staying here will save taxi expense and commuting time. This hotel is located inside Reliable Tech Park campus. Mindspace Airoli East, L&T and few other IT parks are within walking distance from this hotel. Airoli station is about 1.5 km away, walkable if you have time, otherwise autos are available.
Nice views:
On one side there's hill and open space. I got great sunrise views. You won't get this view in most city hotels, as there will be skyscrapers everywhere. Absolutely loved the views. Note that half the rooms face the city other-side- those rooms will have city view.
Spacious rooms
Rooms were spacious and had all basic facilities. However following items were missing in the room-iron, mini-fridge, bathing gown etc
Nice Terrace
There's a small open terrace area with view. Feels nice to sit here and relax
Nice restaurant
In house restaurant in Mango Hotel Airoli is decent. Breakfast options were pretty satisfactory. Restaurant opens very early at 6.30 AM which is great.
Smooth check-in: Check-in was smooth, they didn't ask for any advance payment. I was told I am given an upgrade. If you don't like in house restaurant, there's a Navarathna and few more restaurants just across the street. If you can walk about a km (towards Mindspace), there's a village street selling petty items, fruits, tender coconut and street food.
Not so good things about Mango Hotel, Navi Mumbai
1. Main thing one should be aware of is Mango Hotel's cancellation policy. Mango hotels charge 100% amount as cancellation fee. I had booked for a week for about 20k. If I had to cancel, my card would have been charged full 20000 Rs. Normal industry practice is to charge either 1 night charge or say 10-15% of booking amount as cancellation fee. With Mango Hotel, the cancellation fee is very scary.
2. No hot water at 4 AM. Hot water seem to be available only from 5/5.30 AM onwards. Wanted to take shower early one day but there was no hot water.
3. Once paid, not flexible to refund. Mango hotel offers two rates- one with breakfast, one without. If you select with breakfast option and say on some days you are not having breakfast at the facility, there is no refund.
4. AC is not centralized. This means each time you enter the room you need to switch it on manually and wait.
5. Following accessories in room would have been great- iron, bathing gown, bathing slippers, mini fridge etc.
6. Toiletries are on request.
7. One number for everything (911)- sometimes no one picks up. TV remote was not working- had to report and get the battery replaced. I find videocon DTH very inconvenient to operate compared to Tata Sky
8. No swimming pool. I didn't notice any Gym but didn't check for it.
Overall my stay at Mango hotel, Navi Mumbai was pleasant. Avg per night rate in Mango hotel is about 3k INR. Certainly not budget but reasonable, targeted mainly at mid level employees of IT parks nearby.
