Skywatch Kolkata: Hooghly river special!
It has been a few weeks since I've posted a skywatch. This time straight from Kolkata. A day late for skywatch Friday, but still, here we go.
Yesterday evening, went Howrah station and then went to the jetty to board the ferry that would take us to the other side of the river. During this ride, which was at about 4.30PM, realized that sun is already on descent. My original idea was to click sunset photo with Howrah Bridge in the background, but that was little complicated, since I was on the same side of the river as the sun. In order to click sunset with bridge, I needed to get to the other side of the river. I thought I have enough time- I can go back to Howrah jetty, walk across the bridge, find a vantage point and try some pics. (Few sunrise pictures of River Kwai Bridge)
But then, sunset happens in Kolkata pretty early, at around 4.45-5 PM. Realized this little late and halfway in my attempt to get to the right location, sun was gone it was beginning to get dark. Also police stationed on the Howrah bridge would object to photographing on and near the bridge.
What you see in below picture is the Vidya Sagar Sethu.
Other skywatch specials: Ecosport Special * BMW Special * Hua Hin * Microlight flying *

While most of the above photos were clicked in 5100's sunset mode, which made the pic a lot more colourful than what it feels to the eye, below is one shot clicked using GoPro. Notice the significant difference in colourOther skywatch specials: Ecosport Special * BMW Special * Hua Hin * Microlight flying *
